Hi guys i need to new battery for a 2001, what spec battery should i be looking for? I have a friend who has a bosch S3001 AH 41but im not sure that will work any ideas?

Renault Megane rear wheel bearing
Does anyone know if the rear wheel bearings are connected to the ABS / break disc on a 2001(Y reg) Renault Megane 1.6? I've just had a quote by a garage (prior to inspection) giving me 2 prices for connected and not and there is a significant difference.

right indicator is always on
hi every one
i have a renult clio and the right indicator light is always on but the left one works as normal, also the heater has stopped working ive checked all the fuses and they are all ok

Another Newbie
Hi All.. just joined today, as I was needing to research problems I am having mith my Clio I bought as a wee run around.. It has starting problems, every day it start fine, but when I get to my destination and do what I have to do ie shopping or picking up the grandkids it takes a few turn of the key to get it started, having researched the forums so far it seems I have written out a list of things for the other half to have a look.. :d Anyway seems ot be a forum where any issue is easy enough to locate and fix.. what else does one want from a forum? :think:

Clio 2005 1.2 Rush Oil light and Serv Light
Hi guys
got a 2005 clio about 3 months ago.
a while back the oil light came on on the dash.
i checked the oil and it was very low so topped up with oil to the max.
this morning about 3 weeks after i did this, the oil light came on again along with the SERV light.
i checked the oil and it was absolutely perfect, just under the max level.
could there be a chance that the oil sensor is faulty? though i think it did a good job 1st time around telling me about the low level but this time its on and the level is fine.
also what code reader connection does a 2005 clio 2 take and where is it located?

loss of power
hi its a megane 1.6 16v k4m engine ,when driving it struggles to go over 3000 rpm it will lose power then drive normal if rev let off .When just reving it it will rev through the range .But when held at 3000rpm the engine mangement light will start to flash .when left to idle it will stop flashing and sit quite happy .

scenic turbo 1.9 small bore pipes to boost solenoid
Have just bought a Scenic with a blown Turbo. As this was partly dismantled can anybody give info on where the small bore pipes all go. From Turbo to boost solenoid etc.

Removing fuel injector for Mk1 Scenic
Hi - just removing a fuel injector on my Mk1 1998 Renault Scenic 2.0l 8V and before I broke anything I just wanted to check I'm not missing anything. I have removed the electrical clip and unscrewed the two retaining screws attaching it to the fuel rail. I have removed the backing plate and can see nothing else securing the fuel injector into the fuel rail. Does it just pull out? There is some play but it's not pulling out easily. I need to remove it as the seal has gone causing a petrol leak.

2003 Laguna II 1.8 cannot get into 2nd Gear.

I do apologise if this is the wrong place to post. I'm having a bit of bother. Drove to work this morning(5 miles max), no problems. On lunch I had to head to a shop only about 5 mins away maybe, all still fine. Got into the car after I finished, a bit stiff getting into reverse, then I came to a roudabout and I went to put into second as i was slowly coming along and nothing...it will not go.1st ok, 3rd is a bit stiff, 4th fine and 5th fine. Reverse is a bit stiff also. 2nd is just not happening...
Does anyone know what could cause this? driving fine in all other gears.
The car only has 108k miles and serviced in winter. Havent had any issues with gears before with it.

Central locking (hands-free)
Recently the central locking on our Megane Cabriolet failed. We can only gain entry via the passenger door. To begin with the problem was intermittent, now it's consistent! A mechanic checked the system on his computer, but it was not allowing him to re-program. Any ideas where the fault may lie, or are we at the mercy of Renault?

Airbag warning light + Diagnostics error code B1007 & B1008
Hi, I have a Renault Clio expression 1.2 16v, to cut a very long story straight I had a little bump which caused my drivers side seat airbag and rear drivers side seat belt to go off. After the incident I had a new seat fitted with an airbag and a new rear seat belt fitted. I also purchased a new AIRBAG ECU. EVERYTHING from the incident has been replaced and reset, but my airbag warning and SERV light is still appearing on my dashboard. Today I took a trip down to the local garage who hooked my car onto some sort of diagnostics machine. He said that everything I had done is fine and working normally, he cleared all errors from my ECU + Airbag ECU and then re-tested for any remaining faults.

He said that there was a problem with the airbag in the steering wheel. Could anyone confirm that this airbag is the steering wheel airbag the tests are shown? and also could anyone tell me what my problem is? What I need to do to fix this problem or would buying and fitting a complete new steering wheel airbag fix this problem?.
He also said once the problem is fixed I need to bring the car back so he can clear the remaining 2 error codes so the light on the dashboard would be extinguished!. Pooping my pants for my MOT due in 1 month :( Any help is very highly appreciated as this is relay getting my down and stressing me out having spent £2000+ on repairs and tests. Thanks a lot everyone!

Have a strange one here for all of you in the hope someone can guide me in the right direction.
My wifes 51 plate clio has started to cut out, when it does it the imobilser light comes on. It will restart straight away but with a missfire, if you build the revs to 1500rpm and hold them there it clears the missfire and the imobiliser light goes off and all will be well until next time. This happens very occasionaly maybe once a month. I have had it on the diagnostics and it shows no faults at all.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
Now I have cured the problem at last........ first I changed the spark plugs (not fixed), then i changed the coil pack with leads (Not fixed), I replaced the so called lifetime fuel filter situated in the tank (not fixed) so I then did two things to fix it.....I added an engine to body earth lead and also upluged the wire connecters going to the ECU and rotated them 360degree and pluged them back in.......fixed.
I believe that my problem is the engine wiring harness that has a fault and may need replacing in time but for now its working fine and dandy.

Renault scenic 2004 electric windows
My Scenic has had the usual window problem where the front passenger window dropped into the door as I was driving along - I took it to the dealer and they sorted it out for free as it was a known problem.
I now have a different problem where the rear offside window just won't work. I pushed down on the driver's switch panel to open it for my son and nothing happened. I then tried it myself on his own switch in the back and still nothing it just makes the clicking noise. My question is could the fact that my 3 year old is always pressing it to make the clicking noise (but not opening the window because the child lock is on) be wearing out the motor/regulator/fuse etc. I called the Renault main dealer and they said it was probably the regulator but after reading the forums I feel I am leaving myself open for a hefty rip-off. Any ideas?

P0638 code.
Hi, my megane 1.9dci 2003 had diagnostics done. Code p0638 is the only one the garage couldn't clear. They phoned up the main dealer and they said they had no clue. Apart from that it's something to do with maybe the throttle actuator. Anyone please shed some light on the situation. Cause, remedy etc.

I need some help my x reg megane has a slight missfire you can hear it from exhaust and feel it as the engine rocks slightly its worse when its cold i have replaced the plugs but still there i bought a new pencil coil and tried the new coil on every plug but still the same could it be the icv thnx
