Hi everyone, Im new to the forum as Im not currently a Renault owner, but am thinking about buying the Wind. I would just like any advice on the good and the bad points so I can decide if its going to be a good choice for me. I currently only use my car to travel to work and back and sometimes do a litle bit shopping when my hubby wont take me lol so really my car is my baby, my kids arent even allowed in my car !!! At the moment I have an MGZR but its not so good in the winter. Would it be a good move for me to get rid of it and get the Renault. Any help or advice is very much appreciated and many thanks in advance. :)

Clio 1.2 1998 R plate
Hi folks,
My son has just bought a Clio 1.2 , his first car to learn in on the test drive everything was or appeared to be good no knocks bangs etc, and no signs of head gasket probs.., however we've noticed that his coolant level drops to min mark regularly, and both he and his mum have heard a gurgling of water sound when engine is switched of( only occasionally ). Just changed the stat as that appeared to be dodgy,intermittent heat in cabin and low temp indication rather than midway. Changed the stat yesterday System eventually bled through- no bleed screw to be found on his stat housing, but this morning his level was indicating min again, but when he opened the header tank the level returned to max mark, not seen this before on any car. Water pump being changed next week when cambelt gets done. Appreciate any thoughts on this

megane dci 1.5 2005.
my car has been beeping with the stop and handbrake light coming on totally randomly. i can be sationary, moving forward, turned etc there is no pattern. sometomes its one beep, sometimes 4 or 5 in quick consession. ive had it plugged in and it says no faults. i done a bit of searching online and some people said it could be that the brake fluid needed to be slightly over filled (seemed to work for some people!) but made no difference to mine! any iideas?? i would be most grateful as its driving me insane! and id rather have a rough idea b4 taking it to the dealer :crazy:

I got up today @ 5,45 & flew the length of the country for this...
And had a very happy 430 mile drive home (on a single tank)!
On the plus-side, it has 476bhp (for the moment) :eek:
On the downside, it is thirstier than the Rodius :(, by 1 mpg:crazy:.
Factor in a £200 per year saving on road tax, it's enough to cover the extra £12 per year to insure. (my insurance is £200 fully-comp for this), the benefit of 13 year's ncb.
Man-maths has never made such sense.

rx4 sunroof
Hello all, the front sunroof on my rx4 won't open the driver side starts to move properly but it only moves very slighty on the passenger side putting the sunroof out of line, anyone had this problem before? and how does it work is it a cable system?

Wind!
Life just gets better as you get older doesnt it.
I was in a Starbucks Coffee recently when my stomach started rumbling and I realized that I desperately needed to fart. The place was packed but the music was really loud so to get relief and reduce embarrassment, I timed my farts to the beat of the music. After a couple of songs I started to feel much better. I finished my coffee and then noticed that everyone was staring at me .
I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my Ipod ..

Quick question- kangoo 1.2 transmission fluid?
1.2 petrol manual kangoo van 2002, shortly about to replace the driveshafts so will need to drain the transmission fluid.
Can anyone tell me how much and what type of fluid I need to fill her up again please?
Also just to confirm, fill it up until it spills over- no need to check when warm?

Climate control temp problem
Hello
When I put the temp low ex 16, and the ac is working very good ,suddenly if I turn on the button that dries the windshield is goes to hot and then it does not cool anymore
Or
If the ac is running in min temp if I increase to max I cannot decrease the temp even if it says min
To turn to min I need to remove the battery -
what can I do to fix it??

Scenic 1.5 DCi 2008 reg
Just fitted a new alternator bought from reputable spares source - checked the correct one using the reg. number and confirmed with the supplier that it is the correct one for the vehicle. Got a battery charge failure message on dash. Had diagnostics done and it came up with "alternator incoherence". So think wrong alternator supplied. The single lead plug in fitting was also a bad fit so pretty sure it is the wrong alternator. Have been told that there may be at least 6 versions of alternator for this vehicle but we do not have the old alternator to get the code from. Any ideas how we can find out which is the correct alternator. It is a 106HP engine and the alternator is 150 Amp. What does the single lead that plugs in to the top do? Everything still seems to work even when not plugged in.

Espace Airbag Light
A friends 1999 Espace 2.2d failed its MOT, one of the reasons was the airbag light, at the moment the wee dot matrix screen to the right of the main LCD screen shows the airbag symbol for about 25 seconds after the engine is turned on then the dot matrix screen displays the time.
I cut out the plugs under the seat and soldered the wires together, the seats only have pretensioners no side airbags, however the light is still on.
Is there any other main reasons why the light would come on, where is the airbag ECU located on these cars, and would it be compatible with a CLIP machine?

whistling noise
Hi guys i have a scenic 1.4 2000 reg phase 1 mark 2 model,
Question is when i accelerate i can hear a whistling noise coming from my engine bay, Any clues would be great cheers tommy.

standard spring grand espace 3.5
Does anyone know what the standard spring rates are for the rear on a Renault grand espace 2004 3.5 v6.
After installing LPG on my car the back end is sitting lower due to the additional weight of the gas tank. The backend feels like it could do with stiffening up.
I recon a full tank of LPG including the tank is adding just over 110kg to the back of the car. Does anyone know how to calculate what strings I need to over carry the additional weight better.
I also sometimes want to tow a trailer.

Scenic 2 Automatic Gearbox will not go into Manual Mode
Hi everyone.
I am now the proud own of a 2004 Renault Scenic 2.0 VVT Automatic.
I just bought this for an incredibly cheap price but it has a few faults. The most troubling is the gearbox does not go into manual mode. The car seems to drive fine. But nothing happens when I try to switch over to manual mode and it just stays in auto with no "gear selection" appearing on the dash board.
Is this some sort of limp home mode?
It also has a warning light that reads "Check parking break" and the radio needs a code entering. I read that this is due to the battery running flat and that it needs the codes clearing.
I am wondering though if the car is stopping me from selecting manual mode to protect itself until the codes are cleared or if this is another fault entirely?
Is this a sign of further trouble ahead with the gearbox?
If anyone knows how this can be fixed please do share your wisdom.

Confused with engines? Fq9 800 etc
Hi all
I'm currently abroad and when i get back the car is in for a clutch change, garage mentioned dmf...
So I might need a secondhand one if i get call that the current is worn, i know I know, but the choice has been made!
So I've been told that the laguna dmf won't fit, so I've been searching for a megane one and coming up with nothing so after searching my reg (SA53 YXU) it's coming up a f9q 800? Of which I can't find any on the second hand market...
Is this a good sign that dmf is uncommon? Car is on 117000 on I can assume first clutch...
So are these sites that you enter reg to search for parts giving me the correct info I need?

connector plug under passenger seat.
HI, does anyone have a digram/photo of the large connector block under the passenger seat on a 2004 1.6 petrol scenic. Some of the wires have come away causing the windows to stop working. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

2007 renault trafic injector circuit or is it??
hi all, first time on this forum,we are absoloutly desperate for help we are due to take kids on hols tomorrow but our bus had died any help appreciated..we have done search no results :(
we have a Renault traffic 07 2.0ltr dci115
yesterday when driving the car just cut out,it restarts straight away then drives for short while then it happens again....rac were called error code po200 injector circuit??
my dad has looked at injectors and the socket contacts seem wet but cant smell fuel on them,also he cant seem to get a live to the injectors on the wires (pink) which is odd as it drives?
he is looking to locate any fuses involved with the circuit or even if someone has had a similar prob/issue...he is wondering if it could be a prob elsewhere and the rac dci code may not be that reliable...please help :(
