Iv just got my first reno its a 95 clio 1.4 5door I got this as a stop gap till next year or so I really like the car it has its faults so I will be looking through this forum on how to fix these things I like this car because its fun to drive and its a car I dont have to worry about

can someone please offer some advise

Hello all I have just got a 95 1.4 clio and I like the car but there seems to be a big ptroblem that no matter what gear or speed I am doing the vehicle will not rev past 3000 rpm up to this the car revs smoothly and as soon as I hit this itsounds like a rev limiter about to bounce it starts first time every time and runs well apart from this im a little worried that it could be something major and advise or insight into this would be greatly appreciated thanks so much in advance rob

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have a clio 3 1.5 DCI which my mum bought in October, we had the car serviced and the brakes needed changing because the car had been stood for 8 months.

I have quite a few questions, ill try be as clear as possible.
First off, the spanner came on and the car went into limp home mode a few days after we bought it, so I took it to the garage who cleared the codes and it started to boost perfectly again, I put red x injector cleaner and what not in and taken it for countless boots up on the moors, to no avail.

Around 3 days after the codes was cleared, 1 came back, a p0045 (I think) something to do with a solenoid circuit being open. The car has no boost, but I hear slight turbo spool.

Anyway, now ive told you about the basic story, these are my questions

1. Does the clio 3 1.5 dci have a maf sensor or is it just map?
2. Where is the sensor located?
3. Should that sensor in the picture ( im lead to believe is called a boost pressure sensor) have oil in the hole you see.
4. If the map/maf sensor is broken, would it stop boost?
5. Could a dirty egr valve cause any of this?
Lastly when you touch the accelerator and slightly rev if you get someone to do this whilst you look under the bonnet, the sensor in the pic, (it sounds like its coming from there anyway) makes a 'pst' electrical sound.

Also my idle is 1k but if I keep my foot on the brake it idles at 800rpm, as soon as I let my foot off the brake its back up at 1k.

Please someone help me, I dont really have the funds to take it to a garage yet, I dont want to get ripped off and I think its just a simple fix, one of the sensors has gone.

I forgot to mention what is that sensor looking thing next to the air filter in the last picture.

Steering gone stiff

I had a replacement gearbox fitted to a 51 plate megane cabrio. Up to about 25 mph the steering was as before; above this it stiffens up and requires more effort to shift from a straight line and doesn't centre itself fully as before.

I know I need to go back to the garage, but could this be connected to having the new box fitted, ie tracking is now out?

Hi,

Recently the power has been dropping out when accelerating, but it only appears to happen when the fuel tank is less than a quarter full.

Do you think it could indicate the fuel pump might be on the way out?

I have a 2005 Megane II Sports Tourer 1.9 (130) manual gearbox.

Started up at work and drove home (approx 20 miles) fine. Went back out to car 10 minutes after arriving home to find car would not start.

All lights came on as normal after inserting the keycard, pressing brake pedal etc. On pressing start button, dash lights flickered, wipers (I'd left them on) traveled about an inch, and then nothing. Tried again - same. Left car for about an hour then tried again - same.

Car will lock and unlock except boot lock for some reason. Doesn't sound right when I try to deadlock it for some reason - as though deadlock is not fully engaging?

After reading various threads on here I have removed part of fuse box cover under the bonnet by the battery and there is a tiny bit of evidence of water so have dried this out just in case.

If I just get in the car and switch on the side lights the dash lights dim and then go out. Turn the side lights off and the dash lights come back again.

To me this would be all of the symptoms of a flat battery as thats how the car seems to be behaving, but having only just driven it home before the failure I can't see this being the case?

Any help/advice gratefully accepted. In a past life I was a mechanic of sorts so know how to use a test meter etc if anyone has any thoughts on things I can check/test.

PS if anyone can tell me how to get better access to the fuse box under the bonnet other than just removing the small triangular cover I would be grateful. Doesn't seem to be enough room to get a hand in and pull fuses etc.

Laguna - Air con No air flow

Hi,

I turned on the air con/blower this evening to demist the screen when leaving work. There was no noticeable airflow from any of the vents.

I tried changing the setting from screen to dash and to blow on the foot wells, nothing.

Even on maximum setting, not a sound :confused:

The screen did eventually demist, so there must be some heat being generated, but it was not noticeable.

Usually, I can drive home with the fan set to around 18 degrees and feel nice and warm within 5 or 6 minutes.

Hi everyone im new here im hoping someone can help
i have a 2003 mk2 laguna it says fault in fuel injection
i have had all sorts changed and the garage come up with code 1815 boost pressure circuit things done are as followsmaf sensor
map sensor
boost pressure solenoid
boost leak off test
turbo checked
all fuses checked

its in limp home or safe mode and does about 2500 revs top its 2.2 dci and hates hills and banks im in desperate need of advice on what to do next all help would be gratefully received many thanks.Alan :(

Car is difficult to start in cold weather. I think its the heaters. How can i check that they are working properly? :confused:

Removing resistor pack Megane MKII 2005

Hi
My fan heater stopped working and as a result I can't demist my windscreen/windows. After some consultation/research I decided to remove the resistor pack as apparently this can often be the cause. I am having trouble unlocking the green connectors from the pack to remove it from its housing. Is there a neat little trick or something I am missing to be able to unplug the resistor pack? I have used point nosed pliers and tried wiggling it out and used a flat blade screwdriver to try to ease it out. This is beginning to damage the green plastic so I am wary about going further if there is a better way.

new member need help with coil light

Hope you can help me. When Im at junctions or roundabouts the coil light comes on my 03 Renault clio and the car will stall. I can start the car again but its happening at every junction and is quite scarey. On a straight run the car is fine but as soon as I slow down at a junction the coil light will flicker and the car stops. Any help please.

Hi, i would like to start by saying hello to the people of Renault forums..

I have a Renault Megane cabriolet 1998 1.6 8v and i have a problem...i have not heater blower at all!, so heres what i have tried: ive tried 2 other resistors known to work but no luck, ive put a 12v supply on my motor and the motor span fast, ive checked every fuse and tap every relay(just thought 1 maybe stuck lol)..

Please can any one help as im going out my mind!:confused:...?

Hi,

Couple of things I may be stupid in even asking these lol.

1. Can i change my speedo instrument panel for one that shows the mpg and other details?

2. by the radio i have a central locking button with no wire going to it can i add one in anyway or should there be one that could have fallen down?

Espace 2.2 dci hesitation when hot

Hi All I have just bought a 2005 Espace 2.2 dci for the wife.
On the test drive and my small use with is
all was good.
So I took the wife out to let her get used to it, first auto!
All was good for about 30-45 mins of driving, but then noticed a hesitant pause drop in power like power cutting in and out.
only at about 1500rpm and once you power through it its fine.
it seemed to get a bit worse and you could hear the turbo cutting in and out and chirping like one of my old turbo cosworths on gear change.

I have had a look around the forum and seems to sound like an EGR problem.
When I opened the bonnet today to have a look there is a vacuum hose off the inlet manifold.

If you look at the manifold from the front of car there is a round plastic part facing forward with a rubber hose coming off and then runs a 90degree off but then does not go on to anything.
Any one know where that goes?

Dashboard says check injection and the spanner is lit. Its not in limp home because it lets me go over 3k. The car just has no boost

P0235 - Turbo charger boost A circuit
P0045 - Turbo charger boost solenoid A circuit open
P2263 - Turbo charger Boost system performance

Anybody care to put this in easier terms. Is the map sensor that connects to the boost pressure sensor broke or is it something else?

help I have a 2004 laguna 1.8 with duel climate control, when I put the heaters on the passenger side blows warm but the drivers side blows cold can anybody help me solve the problem please.
