Hi All,
I have joined here to see if I can get any answers on what's going on with my Clio.
I can hear a knocking sound when going round corners and when breaking hard. It sounds like its coming from behind the drivers seat in the rear foot-well.
I have been trying to figure out this problem for a few days now and could do with some fresh ideas.
Anyone had this before?

What do you think of these changes to the clock if brought in as I for one would be in favour of it.
Obviously it won't suit everyone so your opinions would be interesting
"The government is considering moving the UK's clocks forward by an hour for a three-year trial period.
Ministers are writing to counterparts in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to seek a UK-wide consensus on a trial.
It would see the UK adopt Central European Time, with BST plus one hour in summer and GMT plus one in winter.
'Double summertime'
If adopted, the change would mean that for one autumn, the clocks would not go back, synchronising the UK with much of Europe and meaning that British Summer Time (BST) would effectively continue throughout the winter.
The following spring the clocks would go forward to BST plus one hour, or two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) - something which has been called "double summertime".

Hi, new member here.
Collecting a used 2003 Renault Laguna 1.8 Expression estate this coming Saturday, nice 55,000 genuine miles and FSH, and so looking forward to owning it.
Just outed a 1998 BMW 318i SE Touring, that was quickly becoming a money pit, and the previous chav owner had installed an alarm that had remote start
nearly managed to knock my house utility cupboard down if it wasn't for the reinforced concrete flower pot in front of it when I found out it had the feature and must have been badly installed as it still 'worked' whilst in gear habit of leaving my car in gear since my first car rolled out of my parents driveway overnight back in the late 1980's!

Hi All,
as the title suggests, i'm thinking about swapping out the bonnet on my megane...
The story goes, I had a cheap but cheerful 2000 megane in cherry red which i bought for £200... After covering 18000 miles and an unfortunate swipe with a transit van in central london, she has seen better days!
Anyway, a week or two ago I was window shopping at the local independent garage, when i spotted a 2000 megane in cherry red, full mot and 3 months tax, clutch replaced 10 months ago and part S/H for £500. I couldn't resist!!
So, I now have 2 meganes, and the plan is to put together one top notch car out of the two I have :)
The new car has some minor chipping and peeling, and a 5p sized rust spot on the bonnet. What i'm wondering is - how difficult am I going to find it to swap the bonnet over (I'm relatively new to all this!)
All advice greatly received, and parts may be forthcoming in the near future ;)

Hi all
I've referred to this website on many occasion over the years ALWAYS finding solutions but I now have a problem I'm unsure of.
I have a 2003 Renault Laguna 2.2 diesel
Firstly crank pulley damper went so I replaced that, test drive went ok but on a second run I had a warning on dash OIL PRESSURE LOW all of a sudden no power grey/black smoke then it died
It was a couple weeks before I could do crank pulley so had to jump start battery so when car died it would not start again I just walked home got my jeep and sadly towed her home.
When home I popped bonnet and found oil around top of the engine like a rocker cover gasket had blown, pulled out dipstick and showing no oil at all
What could be the problem ?
Inlet manifold gasket possibly ?
Or turbo ?
Any help grately appreciated

The Front left window doesn't work. Initially thought motor yet 'backing light' for the switch on the Drivers door does not illuminate. Could this be linked to the problem. Window doesn't work from left front door either. FYi - This is a Right hand drive car so Left front is Passenger.

Hi,
I have a 2004 Scenic 1.9 dci.
I was using the cigar lighter unit recently, having put in a tyre inflator adapter. The motor in the tyre inflator started to run slower and slower until it stopped altogether. Now there's no power at all from the cigar lighter and I can't use my sat nav system.
I can't find the fuse that protects this circuit, but all other electrical items are working fine and the battery is in good condition.
Can anyone help please?
Cheers,
Peter

If Scotland gains its independence after the forthcoming referendum, the remainder of the United Kingdom will be known as the "Former United Kingdom" (F.U.K.)
In a bid to discourage Scots from voting yes in the referendum, the UK Government have now begun a campaign with the slogan: "Please Vote No For FUK's sake!"
They feel that the voters will be able to relate to this, particularly those in Glasgow.

Hi there. Second post in a week. I've noticed in the last few weeks I've been getting a loud screech (imagine the sound of a wheelspin) coming from my back right wheel. Here is the list of the facts and conditions:
-Only seems to occur when it is very wet, sometimes just a little wet but I don't think it's ever occured when it is dry.
-Mostly occurs within 5 minutes of setting off in the morning.
-Seems to occur most when turning round a roundabout or pulling out of a junction.
-The noise doesn't seem to go away when braking and only goes away after a certain amount of time (20 seconds average)
-Appears to come from just one tyre.
- I know my brakes were flagged on a service but they did say not to worry about them and just to wait till just beflre the MOT (couple of months).
-Because of the things going wrong with the car I didn't wash it for a couple of months and did seem to occur when very mucky (could it be related to dust etc?)
So there's some facts. Any ideas???
And am I risking it by keep driving it in the rain under thos condition.
Nemo.

A Jewish man was leaving a convenience store with his espresso when he noticed a most unusual Italian funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary Italian man walking a dog on a leash. Behind him were about 200 men walking single file.
The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the Italian man walking the dog and said: "I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen an Italian funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"
"My wife's."
''What happened to her?"
"She yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed her."
He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?"
The Italian man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife when the dog turned on her."
A very poignant and touching moment of Jewish and Italian brotherhood and silence passed between the two men.
The Jewish man then asked "Can I borrow the dog?"
The Italian replied, "Get in line."

I have a '07 Laguna, and it has started coming up with a fuel injection fault, it has been in the garage and they read the code which pointed to the EGR valve, they removed and cleaned, put it back on, and after around 15 miles the warning comes back on and goes into limp home mode..
I decided to have a look at the EGR valve and the motor, the valve has definitely been cleaned, but the teeth on one of the cogs have gone, so when the motor kicks in, the valve isn't opening, I am not sure if this has been done deliberately, or if they have just worn with the egr sticking at some point, the connect is not the standard connector, and the car has had a new connector fitted at some point, with the wires soldered together, and one wire left unconnected.
here is a pic of the connection and cog
could the fact that the cog isn't turning, cause the problem, which would put the car into limp home mode, I don't want to spend £120 on a new egr valve if not..
Cheers

2007 2.0DCI Espace, 169000Mls
Having had all the usual DPF problems, IE:- Check injection, Blocked DPF, Clip Forced Re-gen, 30 miles later Check Injection message returned with limp mode, 30min run along the motorway in limp mode, check injection message disappears limp mode off and away we go, driving back on 'A' roads, Check injection warning back on, and then it occurred to me, that the message always comes on after I have 'NOT' had my foot on the gas, but then re-apply the throttle like going down a hill or going down through the gears slowing down... in the old days you may have seen a puff of smoke to give you an idea but with todays Cats and DPF's you don't get the smoke... I'm wondering if its something like valve guide rubbers or similar.. Maybe???

2004/54 Renault Scenic 1.6 16V Petrol 115PS VF1JM0C0H32659230.
Car will not start. All electrics show as normal but there is nothing when the start button is pressed. Car ran normally and was parked. Next morning nothing. Seems to be a lack of communication between the starter button and what ever tells the start motor to operate. Car ran when bump started.
I suspect possibly a clutch or brake pedal switch as one of these need to be depressed to get the car to start or the steering lock module which has been mentioned on the web.
Really want to avoid taking a low value car to a main dealer and spend a large portion of it's value on a repair...
Many thanks
Steve

My question is this, how many ball joints are there on a 2005 Renault Megane 1.6
VVT Privilege.
Last month Kwikfit fitted new ball joints to my car and this month after taking my car to a different Kwikfit to have a noise checked they told me that the ball joints needed replacing.
Is there an upper pair and a lower pair or just one pair?
Am I being ripped off ?
thanks for looking
Steve
