No air blowing into the car - but the fan works!?
The fan is blowing like it should but no air is comming into the car at all. Just about took half the car apart by now but still can't seem to find why the vents won't open. Anyone have any ideas on this one? It's a Senic - 99

Long time Renault fan, my father owned several 4's in the seventies, and myself a scenic 1 now. These make great family cars and as well I like a lot the high and straight-up sitting which I find quite comfortable.
In the past I already swapped the motor, transmission, wheel axles, as a complete not trained tech, but I don't mind to learn and get dirty.
I mainly registered to have a look around see if I can find hints towards solving a nasty problem.
What I can't do is make a proper diagnose... Like on sound.

1.9dci engine help!
Hi everyone. I have a 1.9 dci Scenic on an 02 plate which runs really rough. It chugs on tickover and the engine shakes all over the place. When you rev it, it struggles to pick up but when it does, it revs fairly freely.
The other concern is that there is a load of grey smoke that stinks of diesel pouring out from behind the engine.
Please somebody help me. I'm at my wits end :crazy:
I have linked to a video of the engine running so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

clio dci 2001 x 2 rough idle on both cars
Hi all, won't bore u with unimportant details so here goes..
I have 2 clios both same 2001 year and both expression 65 my main car which is silver and my new one that i'm trying to fix which is blue.
the problem with the blue clio is the one i was trying to fix, problem being that it would hardly ever start and i narrowed it down to stop solenoid and i KNOW THIS FOR A FACT because i took the stop solenoid of my silver car and put it into my blue car and IT STARTED! but it was running rough and gas pedal wouldn't respond!!! :confused: if i put it into gear and release clutch slowly it stalls
i had to start work so i went to put the working solenoid back where it came from which is silver clio, my main car. after pumping all the air out of fuel system it started but now the main silver car is running rough:crazy: there is also a light on the dash (it's a relay?) it has a rectangle with a sinus wave and a curly wiglet under it.
if i missed any clues please ask.
any ideas please let me know.
p.s. i have not done a diagnostic test on it as my tester is on it's way to me so i'll update with info when i know more.

Identify this part J8S engine

J8S 2.1 diesel, year unknown
I've managed to break the end off this and need to get another.
Can anyone tell me what it is?
It's on the right side of the engine close to the oil filter below the exhaust manifold
It has an electrical connector so it's probably a sensor of some sort

Diagnostic Fault Codes - HELP!
Hi - I got a Laguna 2004 2.2DCi Automatic. Got a ESP Fault / Service warning light.
Took to garage for diagnostic and its gave this list
C10D3 - Pump Motor Faulty
C10E4 - Communication with central electronics faulty
C10E3 - Communication with transmission control faulty
C10E2 - Message engine control unit no injection
B10B1 - Airbag control unit component defective
B10BA - Airbag control unit component defective
B1050 - Data has vehicle speed signal implausible
B1042 - Voltage supply control unit / voltage out of tolerrence
B1050 - Data bus no message from ABS
So my questions are... how serious is this lot? Does my ABS work? do the airbags work? is it safe? How much to fix?

there are holden factory wheels out there that have an unusual style they are almost covered over completely with metal but with a few small gaps cut in. where can i find them i have seen them on a 2006 holden adventra but would like to buy them and put them on a 2004 ford futura i will know the style when i see it.

Scenic- Sun Visor Mirror Removal
This plea is a long shot. I have a 60 plated Scenic which has a problem with the sun visor on the drivers side. I have managed to get my RAC card stuck inside the visor (I tried to clip the card behind the small card retaining "strap" on the visor, whilst not really watching what I was doing, instead I managed to slide it in through the gap around the edge of the mirror!) The upshot is that the card is now inside the visor and stopping me from sliding the mirror open, not to mention the fact that the card is no longer usable. I need to remove the mirror but don't want to force/break anything, so can anyone tell me how to remove the mirror please?

I want to get myself some lowering springs for my laguna as it is far to high! Problem is, I'm struggling to find any anywhere. I want to spend around £100-£150. Does anyone have any advice on where/if I could find some?...

Hi all, been reading some post and there is some brilliant advice and help on here, 1 which has just helped me out where the motor to lock the fuel cap makes a grinding noise. Sorted it by replacing the motor with 1 from a scraper.
I have a scenic 2002 1.9 cdi brill motor upto now massive upgrade from my first car which was a 93 corsa, so ive got maybe 100 things extra i didnt have in the corsa, ill name a few, power steering, cd player, central locking, abs, airbags, air con, sunroofs, electric windows (what a blessing) leather seats plenty of storage, cigerate lighter for charging things (not a smoker) fog lights wow i could go on and on ha ha
Any way glad to be a part of the forums.

EGR Valves
Hi All
Just thought I would post this as there are many threads that seem to fade out just when getting to the nitty gritty of the problem.
So here goes
Symptoms:
1. Renault scenic 1.5dci showing "check emissions" showing on dash intermittently but getting more frequent.
2. There appears to be a flat spot and power lacking on acceleration which by taking the throttle foot off and back on again overcomes the problem and get full power again.
FIX:
1. Took off EGR Valve and cleaned the chamber in which the egr valve fits. A piece of carbon about 3 cms long came out and several smaller bits. Cleaned valve and refitted. Now car won't accelerate at all (appears like I have not turbo)
2. So bought a new EGR Valve and fitted it. RESULT car "appears to have a new engine" - Can now hear the turbo coming in and out and mpg at 70mph = 55.9mpg. Acceleration is smooth again and the emissions light has gone off without needing a reset.
Job was fairly easy to do as long as you take off all the cowling around the lower windscreen area(including the wipers/wiper arms)
Hope this helps others if you have these symptoms as to what to do. Cost of job was £60 for the EGR Valve. Local Renault garage wanted to charge me £72 just to do a diagnostic check!

1.2 Clio Tiptronic
I have recently bought my first clio.
1.2 engine with tiptronic
I am currently having an problem of the car won't go into auto mode. But drives perfectly fine , manual and paddle shift.
Where the little A normally appears , it doesn't seem to want to activate, goes straight into manual.
Any help on fixing this myself or advice would be grateful.
