Hello I have a 2011 Renault Megane Dynamique T-tom Dci Eco and I'm having problems with the tailgate, it pops open as I start the engine and pull away. I leave the engine running, go round and shut the tailgate and everything is then OK until the next time I have to start the car. Any ideas as to why the tailgate should pop open like this?

Hello expert Elf's.
After doing some research I have discovered similar posts, but not the same.
I start the vehicle in the morning and drive for about half an hour on open road with not much traffic no problems power acceleration all good.
I come to a bottleneck on the freeway where you are forced to standstill.
Watching the rev counter, it suddenly drops by 200rpm within 15 seconds.
When trying to accelerate again the vehicle coughs, splutters and backfires when changing gears.
When traffic has resolved and the vehicle is still in this state once the accelerator pedal is pushed flat against the floor all the power comes back and that is the only drive-able position on the accelerator.
I you carry on for 5min or so it clears and the idling revs come up by 200rpm and the whole accelerator pedal is available again.
In a nutshell, if you keep the vehicle above 1500rpm it will never go into this mode, but if you start to idle then within 20sec it comes back.
What be the thoughts on this one, is this limp mode or not?
Many thanks
Cheers
Zedd

Hi Everyone
So today went through with a mad purchase.
An uncle has had his works van since it was new in 2005 but has only done 80000 miles in it. Its engine is reliable and runs well but he doesn't listen to suspension noises etc. He also bashed the van in quite a bit with work including letting the door swing in the wind and almost wrecking it and the front wing. The rear doors don't slide well and the mechanisms are shot. He also kept his dog in the van when at work so the seats are wrecked. He bought a new traffic and decided to keep his old one as a farm vehicle. This hasn't happened and its just sat doing nothing so I've been thing about taking it off his hands as a project. Trouble is it's green and I really didn't want to start buying white panels off ebay and having a patchwork car.
Then yesterday what appears 30 miles from our house. a 2006 green traffic with a smashed left side and a knackered injector for just £400
So that's it deals done with both owners.
Plan to rape the 2006 van to make the 2005 one good. I cannot be bothered messing with the injector and the body on the 2006 is beyond saving I think. I'm hoping there is enough compatibility with wishbones, bearings and brakes to get the chassis back up to scratch and I should be able to use all the panels to sort out the 2005 and give the van a facelift too. Interiors except dash will be swapped over.
Once all up and running with an MOT I'll think about rear windows and seats with an aim to have it as a second family workhorse and toy.

Hi, just wondering if you can help. A mechanic ran a diagnostics on my car because of power draining intermittently, the following code was found (1525f328) using delphi but we are unable to find what that code corresponds to.
Thank you, right now I am stranded 2 hours from home on a Friday evening!!!

Noticed today that the form had just notched that many topics in ask the experts.
Although I can't offer much help I am glad the forum is here and I compliment the regular admin and those who seem to give a lot of time to help others. This forum will be going long after my car will.....
Advice is given freely and it's upto the person to decide whether to use it or not. Recently I did a reverse switch and searching the forum found I needed a 3 wire switch and a deep 24mm socket....bought the socket and saved garage labour. That's the sort if great input I mean.
Thank you and have a good weekend

I have a Clio 09 plate 1.2 engine. When I want to open the passenger side door from the outside I have to press a button on the dashboard first. Also, I have to click a button on my keys every time I want to open the boot. Does anyone know if it is possible to disable this?

My 2008 MK4 Espace 2.0dci suddenly stopped responding to the 2 key cards I have. I can still use the keys to open/lock doors. The cars lights and radio are working too. No ventilation and cannot start the engine, even though it says "Please insert card" on the display.
I have ordered a 2nd hand card reader to see if it fixes the issues, which hopefully will arrive in 2-3 days.
The car has been recovered and towed 30m away from my house and the recovery guy managed to disable the electronic handbrake.
I cannot turn the handbrake back one, tried pressing the park key a few times without any success, any suggestions ? Car is now just without hand brake on along the car. If people knew about it, they could just push the car away or against another car ! Any idea how I can get the handbrake back on ?

Hi guys. Earlier this evening I had a strange occurrence when driving my Clio DCi 100. All of a sudden, the gear lever, when pulling back for second, fourth or reverse would pull back too far (nearly reaching the hand brake lever) and there would be no gear present. First, third and fifth seem to be unaffected. I can get second, fourth and reverse, but only if I pull the gear lever part way (to roughly where it used to pull to), then they engage ok. If I pull the lever too far I lose the gear. It's as though there should be something to prevent the lever pulling back further, like some kind of stop, but it's vanished.
Does this sound familiar to anyone, or does anyone know what may have broken/slipped?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.. Loaf. :smile2:

Having just taken my original plastic wheel covers off to paint the wheels black primarily to stop the advancement of rust after I lost the spare wheel rim to it, I have come to the conclusion I rather like black painted steel wheels and aim to not refit the standard plastic covers as I had a thought
Now it is I will be replacing the rear wheel bearings soon where I notice the rear wheel bearings come with a nice new shiny axle dust cover of which gave me an idea, aside from fitting shiny chrome covers over the rather grubby wheel nuts ( yeah, they're really screws) I thought it would be a nice idea to replace that axle dust cap with another shiny chrome cover to complement the wheel nut covers
And so to the front axle where as standard I believe there is no cover over the disc hub axle protrusion, why I don't know as it does not make a great deal of sense to myself given the rear hubs have them for what is sealed bearings, same as the front, but to complete my idea perhaps I can purchase after market axle dust covers to put a bit of chrome in the centre of the front hubs as well.
If such things are available and will fit a Clio hub where yeah like the rear hub I understand it will be a non structural press fit or tap in affair, where once fitted I don't believe they will be coming off that often but should be lever - able out like the standard rear axle dust caps to consider the fitment of such caps a semi permanent affair and a way to smarten up the front wheels.
So, does anyone know if such caps are available to fit the Clio hubs, be them shiny or painted as they can be repainted, where yeah I know there are some enticing steel wheel detailing options available in the US but I am finding nothing here in the UK ?

Hi all,
Couples of weeks ago my espace mk4 2.0t auto went into limp mode , the electrical fault light came on along with an injector fault error message . The engine only run at idle speed but that was lumpy as well. Then in the near side of the engine compartment i wiggled a connector and then i started the engine. It ran perfectly fine. As a matter of fact even the engine management light disapeared which had been on due to a P0141 error.( came back the next daythough)
Then the other morning, the same thing happened again , but this time i was stranded for 15 minutes as the parking brake did not release. Wiggling the connector fixed it again.
I have just tried to replicate the fault but its not happening.
My question is could a faulty lambda sensor cause such issue or it is simply just a bad connection ?
(Have just checked the connector but seems ok)

Mr Cadbury met Miss Rowntree on a Double Decker.
It was just After Eight. They got off at Quality Street.
... He asked her name. 'Polo, I'm the one with the hole' she said, with a Wispa.
... ... 'I'm Marathon , the one with the nuts' he replied.
He touched her Cream Eggs, which was a Kinder Surprise for her.
Then he slipped his hand into her Snickers, which made her Ripple.
He fondled her Jelly Babies and she rubbed his Tic Tacs.
Soon they were Heart Throbs.
It was a Fab moment as she screamed in Turkish Delight.
But, 3 days later, his Sherbet Dip Dab started to itch.
Turns out Miss Rowntree had been with Bertie Bassett and he had Allsorts.

The rear wiper on our 2006 Clio has stopped working. I have checked the 20A wiper fuse under steering column & it's fine. There are 3 wires connected to the motor: thick white to pin 1, thin white to pin 2 and thick white to pin 3. With ignition on, there is 12v +ve feed to pin 2 and ground to pins 1 & 3. However, this does not change when rear wiper switch is activated, so I think it is only getting power for parking. I have checked the large multi-connector under the carpet by the passenger seat and found 3 corroded connections which I have corrected, but problem still not solved. I'm still not sure whether it's the motor or something else (UCR unit, column switch, relay or wiring). Any ideas please?

Hi all,
My daughter has a 57 plate Clio with a 3 button RF key fob. One of the microswitches (unlock) came off the circuit board, but she could still operate the other two (lock and boot). I replaced the microswitch, but now the key fob does not operate at all. I'm guessing that the fob may need resynching, but I have no idea what the procedure is. Searching came up with a few options, but only for a Mk2 Clio - none of which worked.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Mark

HELP! I'm really stuck here but I'll go through what happened and what I've looked at.
So yesterday on the way to work my 2007 1.9 Laguna started emitting smoke from the engine bay while in traffic. Temperature gauge was in it normal place and didn't rise. So I turned the car off and left it for a while. Got going again and got to work, left it running, no smoke. Car was completely fine driving home as well.
I then came to use it later on that evening and after about 4-5 mile the smell of burning appears in the cab so I pull over and smoke is piling out again. Slowly drove it back home.
Today I have tried to replicate what the car did yesterday so I could see in the day light where the smoke could possibly be coming from but to no avail. Car ran completely fine, no smoke, no burning smell. I drove it with a code reader attached to record the live data and all was ok there, car got up to temperature as normal and stayed there.
What my code reader did pick up on was a charging system voltage error, but I had this a while ago and after testing the alternator and battery it turned out to be the battery being unserviceable. I'm now wondering weather something electrical is burning.
Any help? Anyone had this before? Any help appreciated.
