Hello
I was wondering if anyone with semi-auto experience could tell me why i'm getting a delay when i select reverse gear, about 4 seconds.
Seems to be when it's warm & engine on, with engine off it selects straight away.
Could it be the fluid needs changing or clutch adjusting?
Many thanks
Ralph

I have no spark at number one coil. No fault codes showing up.Checked coils by interchanging working sparking coil from cyl. 2/3/4 number 1 coil works ok in cyl. 2/3/4. Still no spark on coil 1 . Baffled as I am aware of cyl. 2/3 and 1/4 being "joined" electrically as in wasted spark. I can not find any issues with any relays or fuses, have removed TDC sensor cleaned replaced. ( cant be this as Cyl. 2/3/4 still sparking. Will run on 3 cylinders with obvious missfire due to no. 1 no spark. I have removed ecu ( bloody nightmare getting steel casing off, Angle grinder sorted that. Checked wiring from injectors to pin 1. and 32 on ecu . both have continuity. Completely baffled now. Any ideas anyone????

Hi guys I got the below message on my 2011 Grand Scenic today. Please note that the photo attached is from the Internet but it's exactly the same message I got.
I was driving along and it just came up. There was no change in the driving or feel of the car. I popped into my local garage to have the diagnostics computer plugged in but by the time I got there the message went. They plugged it in and it came up with 2 errors - 1 about cruise control and another which said "engine oil dilution detected". He cleared the fault and as I got close to home the message came up again. It's booked to go back in for tests and repairs this week but just wondering what it could be?
The vehicle had a brand new DPF system fitted about 6 months ago (filter, injectors etc the whole lot) so I have no idea what it could be???

Hi I am having a problem in the last week with my 1.4 diesal scenic 04. first it seamed to be losing power when driving. the other day coming home from work the check injections and emissions warning came on. then the next day the car wouldn't start in the morning. Now its take maybe 5 to 6 times to start and alot o smoke comes trying to start. i had it in the garage the last two day and they could not find the problem. I have odb2 scanner and it came up with 4 fault codes. p0487, p0409 and p2413 have all to do with exhausts. i also had p0670 with i found had to do with glow plug module or the plugs themselves. any ideas would be great. thanks

Had a busy day today getting the camper ready for a night away next week, and wanted to fit one of those 12v usb socket, voltage meter, and accessory socket thingies.
I didn't want to drill holes all over my cupboard, so drew a nice box for it using design spark, and created a stl file. I left my 3D printer to do its job, and here is the result. I should be able to fit it in the camper tomorrow, but here are a couple of piccies to get on with.
The plastic bits on the left are some fuse holders I printed out while I was at it.

Hi all. i own a Renault Trafic and i have this intermittent problem where the engine turns but sometimes fails to start.
i have to squirt easy start in the air intake to get the engine running, not ideal to keep using this method aparantly.it has had a new air flow meter and a replacement fuel pump.when it does eventually fire up a cloud of black smoke emits when i rev it hard. spent quite a bit of dosh so far to resolve this problem which started to happen a couple of months ago. The engine has only covered 107k and has had a cam belt replaced at 98k.
Can anyone help??:crying2:

Morning All,Can one of you Experts advise me please-The problem is easy enough to describe, the central locking no longer operates from the key fob atall, however there is a bit of a story leading up to the loss of operation? The Vehichle is a Renault Scenic Alize Mk1 with the 8valve K7M engine fitted T reg,we've had the car 10+ years now and had very little in the way of problems.About 4 years ago the car was driven in the drive and next morning would not start-turned over but no firing atall-checked the obvious and ended up calling mobile lecky out,the long and short of the problem was the imobiliser he told us and our 2options were to change the ECU,ignition coller and keys etc or disconnect the immobiliser which was a lot cheaper, the car has little in the way of value so we went for the second option. Now the car would run, central locking still worked and the red immobiliser light blinked on/off if the car was running or stopped, for the next 3years or so all was well, then I was fiddling with on of the courtesy lights in the roof by the back seats and caused a bit of a splash trying to get the blown bulb out and that was that-no central locking?since got the light sorted and replaced fob battery, also disconnected the main battery thinking it may reset something but still no central locking and now no blinking red immobiliser light-I only mention about the immobiliser as I've read you use that red light to reset the key fob on some systems which I can no longer do? I should add the central locking operates without any problems from the switch on the dashboard, Any thoughts or advice gladly received, Regards Paul.

Hi everyone, I have been searching this and other forums for some answers to a porblem on a family members car.
about a week ago it decided to refuse to start, the bettery went flat, we jump started it and took it to a battery center, they tested the battery and replaced it as it was on its way out, it then refused to start again. It turns over fine but doesn't fire, leave it for an hour and it starts.
I removed the TDC sensor three days ago and cleaned it, it started and ran fine then.we tried it yesterday and now it refuses to run at all.
I removed no 1 spark plug and turned the engine over, no spark and the plug is completely dry wich suggests to me that no petrol is getting to the cylinders.
I took out the fuel pump connector at the tank and I am getting a 12v reading for about a second then nothing, is this normal or should there be a constant 12v supply? I'm not sure if the supply is only there when the engine is running.
Tomorrow I will remove the TDC sensor again and measure the resistance (now I've found out how to) .
If the TDC sensor is faulty would that cut off the fuel pump and the spark?.
I look forward to getting some helpful tips
By the way I don't have accessto any workshop manual as i am in South Africa and swapping parts just to test is out of the question as the prices of spares here is totaly crazy, The TDC sensor is the equivalent of £100 and the family member who owns the car is a pensioner
Thanks
