1.5DCI Engine noisier and lack of low down power

$

Hi, I have a 2012 Laguna 1.5DCI with 138k miles and for the past two months or so the engine has sounded noisier than usual especially on tickover or at low revs. Sometimes when idling it is so bad the dash vibrates or the whole car can vibrate. It can sound like the exhaust is blowing slightly but I don't think it is.

It did go away briefly once a few weeks ago but is back again now.

Sometimes I have to give it extra revs to pull away or the engine judders.

Other than this issue the car runs fine and gives great mpg.

It has been serviced recently with a new fuel filter and I also tried a tank of premium fuel with some injector cleaner before a 4 hour motorway trip but that made no difference.

Does anyone have any ideas where to start? I did wonder if maybe the EGR was sticking but didn't want to go through the hassle of removing it and cleaning it as that is just a guess. I also wondered if this vehicle uses any vacuum pipes that may be split?

Thanks in advance.

Jerky Driving, Intermittent Engine Management Light

Hi All,

About a month ago I started the car up to go to work, started driving... Was ok for about a mile or so, then the engine management light came on (blinking, not solid) and the drive became incredibly jerky, not limp mode though.

Turned off engine, and then back on. Light was gone. Another mile or so, same thing. Turned off engine, blinking engine management again. Did this all the way to work.

Come 5:30pm, I get in the car to go home. No engine management light this time, but still intermittently jerky, very jerky.

It's been jerky on and off, with varying severity, ever since.

Engine management light came back on today, same as at the start, and then went away. Jerking persists.

Been reading forums etc and have found it could be the MAF sensor? Does this seem likely? If not, are these symptoms indicative of a common issue?

Any and all info appreciated, cheers ?

My son got sent home from school today. He had been suspended for running around the girls toilets with his C0ck**** hanging out. Seems he had done it for a bet. Suspension seemed to be a bit harsh, so I rang the headmaster to explain that it was just a bit of tomfoolery gone too far.

However, he was having none of it & stuck by the suspension. Getting a bit peeved, I asked him if he would rather have him thieving & smashing the school up like others I could mention!.

"No", he said, "I would rather have him teaching the 5th year chemistry like he is paid to do"!

Havin trouble with my knob

Dear All
Recently picked up a red leather interior for my Megane CC
Finally had a break in the weather to make a start on the swap.
The guy who I bought it off said the gear knob just pulls off
It did but the old one and new one are different
The old one has a groove at the bottom where the gator is fixed in place with a cable tie
The new one doesn’t have the groove
I expected the portion with the groove to stay on the shaft.
Can anyone tell me if it is removable from the old lever?
Otherwise I can’t see how the gator will attach?

Any answers appreciated

Cheers

Steve

My Renault Grand Scenic MKlll has error codes DF054 and DF1012. Please help!

Hello All,

I am new to this forum, so apologies if I am being long here; hoping to get some help to the issue with my Renault Grand Scenic MK3 1.6 dCi diesel 61 plate car.
We have had it for a few months only and now it has the Check Injection System, Check anti-pollution System and every now and then, STOP, Engine Hazard Failure with the wrench sign illuminated at all times. When the cruise control or speed limiter are switched on, then additional messages come up: Check Cruise Control and Check Speed Limiter. The engine became really loud, there is no torque and goes into limp-mode at times.
I got it diagnosed and the below errors came up:

DF054 - Turbocharger solenoid valve control circuit. Signal outside the upper limit
DF1012 - Consistent multiplex signals for CC/SL. The data supplied to the cruise control or speed limiter are not correct.

The garage where I got it diagnosed quoted around 1.6k for the job, which is a substantial part of the cost of the car itself. Could please someone tell me where I should look into and what should be replaced. Also, is it something a car novice can accomplish with some basic tools at home?

Thank you very much in advance and will look forward to your support.

Regards,
Alex

Single mass flywheel conversion for Laguna mk2 2.0T F4Rt

Hey all,

What are the possibilities to convert a DMF to a lighter single mass flywheel on a Laguna mk2 with F4Rt? My current flywheel is going, so I'd rather replace it with a solid one. I tried googling and found no info or conversion kits. Maybe there are other Renaults which can be salvaged for the single mass flywheel?

Kulula is an Airline with head office situated in Johannesburg . Kulula
airline attendants make an effort to make the in-flight "safety
lecture" and announcements a bit more entertaining.
Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported:
On a Kulula flight, (there is no assigned seating, you just sit where
you want) passengers were apparently having a hard time choosing, when
a flight attendant announced,
"People, people we're not picking out furniture here, find a seat and
get in it !"
---o0o---
On another flight with a very "senior" flight attendant crew, the pilot
said,
"Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached cruising altitude and will be
turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance
the appearance of your flight attendants.."
----o0o---
On landing, the stewardess said,
"Please be sure to take all of your belongings.. If you're going to
leave anything, please make sure it 's something we'd like to have."
----o0o---
"There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways
out of this airplane."
---o0o---
"Thank you for flying Kulula. We hope you enjoyed giving us the
business as much as we enjoyed taking you for a ride."
---o0o---
As the plane landed and was coming to a stop at Durban Airport , a lone
voice came over the loudspeaker:
"Whoa, big fella. WHOA!"
---o0o--
After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in the Karoo, a
flight attendant on a flight announced, "Please take care when opening
the overhead compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as
hell everything has shifted."
---o0o---
From a Kulula employee:
"Welcome aboard Kulula 271 to Port Elizabeth . To operate your seat
belt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works
just like every other seat belt; and, if you don't know how to operate
one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised."
---o0o---
"In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, masks will descend
from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your
face. If you have a small child traveling with you, secure your mask
before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with more than one
small child, pick your favorite."
---o0o---
"Weather at our destination is 50 degrees with some broken clouds, but
we'll try to have them fixed before we arrive. Thank you, and remember,
nobody loves you, or your money, more than Kulula Airlines."
----o0o---
"Your seat cushions can be used for flotation; and in the event of an
emergency water landing, please paddle to shore and take them with our
compliments."
---o0o---
"As you exit the plane, make sure to gather all of your belongings.
Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight
attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses.."
---o0o---
And from the pilot during his welcome message:
"Kulula Airlines is pleased to announce that we have some of the best
flight attendants in the industry. Unfortunately, none of them are on
this flight!"
----o0o---
Heard on Kulula 255 just after a very hard landing in Cape Town : The
flight attendant came on the intercom and said,
"That was quite a bump and I know what y'all are thinking. I'm here to
tell you it wasn't the airline's fault, it wasn't the pilot's fault, it
wasn't the flight attendant's fault, it was the asphalt."
----o0o---
Overheard on a Kulula flight into Cape Town , on a particularly windy
and bumpy day: During the final approach, the Captain really had to
fight it. After an extremely hard landing, the Flight Attendant said,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to The Mother City. Please remain in
your seats with your seat belts fastened while the Captain taxis what's
left of our airplane to the gate!"
----o0o---
Another flight attendant's comment on a less than perfect landing: "We
ask you to please remain seated as Captain Kangaroo bounces us to the
terminal."
----o0o---
An airline pilot wrote that on this particular flight he had hammered
his ship into the runway really hard. The airline had a policy which
required the first officer to stand at the door while the passengers
exited, smile, and give them a "Thanks for flying our airline". He said
that, in light of his bad landing, he had a hard time looking the
passengers in the eye, thinking that someone would have a smart
comment. Finally everyone had gotten off except for a little old lady
walking with a cane. She said,
"Sir, do you mind if I ask you a question?"
"Why, no Ma'am," said the pilot. "What is it ?"
The little old lady said,
"Did we land, or were we shot down?"
----o0o---
After a real crusher of a landing in Johannesburg, the attendant came
on with,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain in your seats until Captain Crash
and the Crew have brought the aircraft to a screeching halt against the
gate. And, once the tire smoke has cleared and the warning bells are
silenced, we will open the door and you can pick your way through the
wreckage to the terminal.."
----o0o---
Part of a flight attendant's arrival announcement:
"We'd like to thank you folks for flying with us today.. And, the next
time you get the insane urge to go blasting through the skies in a
pressurized metal tube, we hope you'll think of Kulula Airways."
----o0o---
Heard on a Kulula flight:
"Ladies and gentlemen, if you wish to smoke, the smoking section on
this airplane is on the wing.. If you can light 'em, you can smoke
'em."
