6 spd Gearbox oil capacity

I have recently taken ownership of a Scenic 3 1.6 16 valve fitted with a 6 speed gearbox. Does anybody know the oil capacity of this gearbox a s I am old school and after 8 years I am going to replace the gearbox oil. Even though the car is 8 years old it is only on 25k miles, it was my dad's car so know it is genuine. But I have a few questions on the service provided by the dealer he has used so am doing a full fluid replacement.

Clockspring / Squib fault?

Hello folks. Would a faulty clockspring/Squib cause the steering wheel to fall to the right and not stay centre?

Car recently passed the mot test. New strut and tie rods fitted to passenger side.

Had a steering lock issue a couple of years back and I think the mechanic wrecked it. He wasnt my usual mecahnice. Long story. Anyway he had to tow car to his garage.

Fixed steering lock but when I got car back noise when turning the steering wheel. Also a bit of a scraping type noise. Told me on the phone at the time he had to replace the clockspring while doing steering lock. Told him its not right so he fitted another.

Not long after noise again. Shaving/scraping type noise has been there since but you don't always here it. There is also a noise when steering wheel turns but not ordinarily. It's basically when you turn a big corner and then let go off the wheel for it to turn back to centre position. A clicking type noise.

I've also recently noticed the steering wheel adjustment lever is actually broken or not connected? It doesn't do anything. It's just loose.

Before mot car test the wheel alignment was also done and I took it back for them to do again as the steering wheel still sometimes falls to the right.

I've searched through the posts and cannot find any answer on what actually happens after the handbrake gets changed out and what is actually done to clear the check parking brake message and make the rear parking brake light operate.

Can anyone enlighten me? I have called out local Renault dealership to find out what they recommend and awaiting their call back. Our car is in the local garage and they cannot figure out a way to get rid of the message and get the light working - so I am trying to find a success story or method to show them so we can get our car back on the road.

Is it jsut a case of clearing the EPB info from the ECU?
What needs done with regards to the rear parking brake?
Does there need to be a specific wire/wiring done to replace the wiring that goes on from the old parking brake handle to the ECU & Rear lights?

Battery not charging warning in cluster MK4 clio

Hi , would you know why just started getting message in cluster display about battery not charging and battery light and stop light ... But here's the thing I start up the car fine, and the car idles for around 30 seconds and then the error comes up on the dash, not straight away when I start the car.
And I feel the alternator is putting out charge because when I turn on headlights the engine dips and then picks up like it should do and the car is starting up fine, not sluggish starter motor or anything. Any ideas please.

Anyone have a idea what is used to coat the handles mine looking rough wasnt sure if it was a plastic spray renualt used if so were could i get it thanks

Clio suddenly moves either left or right while driving

Please can someone help me, I have a Clio 2006 it's the older model you can be driving down the road then all of a sudden it'll jump either left or right I've had the brakes done I've had the tracking done and checked I've checked myself all around can't seam to see anything

I would be really grateful for any help

Switch radios between Clio 2002 and Symbol 2005

Hello everyone,
I have on my symbol this type of radio https://imgur.com/X9XSNVg with that update list. I want it changed with one like this from my older clio 2002 wich looks like this . The problem is, when I insert the older radio in my symbol, it won't display anything just the clock and temp, but when I plug his radio (the one with the UPDATE list down there) it works. So I think it is not the fuses. Please help! Any ideas would help a lot. Thanks!

Need help with my Megane 3 1.6 16v

Hello to all.
Today I'm going to tell you a story that I've been telling everyone for 5 months...
I have a megane 3 1.6 16v (69000 km), and I have a problem with it.
When the engine is cold, like overnight (it does this even if it's left a couple of hours, like 4 hours), the engine starts(a little hard, for my taste) the rpm goes to 1100 rpms, after this, in 2-3 seconds it goes to 800 rpm and starts to shake like she's running in 3 cylinders...For about 15 seconds until the ecu(I think) raises the rpm back and the car is normal...But this is until I drive it. When in traffic and I want to accelerate, when I push the gas pedal, nothing's happens for a while and suddenly the car accelerates. The EML does not light up, I have put various testing software's even the oem one, and there are no signs of errors...all the computers of the car are green and error free. This problem is making me crazy.
Parts that I changed/cleaned:
Coils, spark plugs, sealed the intake manifold( all those three things in RENAULT SERVICE), cleaned the throttle body, changed the MAP sensor, cleaned the camshaft sensor, changed the timing belt with water pump and the dephaser pulley(it was rattling), oil and filters have been replaced. Any help would be great.

How do you get a compressor Belt back on the pulley? Clio IV

hi all - is there a 'in the trade' knack to get the Drive belt back onto the pulley of the AC Compressor pump? _ I have been struggling for well over an hour to get it back on , its a fecker! - cannot see any adjuster on the A/C compressor bracket to push it in to attach the belt and then pull it out and do up a nut.
The A/C Compressor is held on by 3 (very long) bolts into the bracket.
The car is a Clio 4 1149cc 16v with the 2 belts (one for the alt and one for the A/C compressor)

Looking for the timing marks just wondering if the high pressure pump is just a pump and runs on the cam belt as can not seem to find any marks on it to match up .. . I have locked up the bottom crank and lined up the camshaft so was just wondering about the pump .. thanks

Renault Twingo 2014 Variable Valve Issue

Hi everyone, hope this is in the right section!

Took my Twingo to a garage after I encountered some issues with it starting up, then running when I was able to start it. I'm honestly not familiar with cars in the slightest, and the best way I could describe the issue was that it would rumble when idle - the same sort of rumbling a car does just as it's about to stall. Mechanic diagnosed the issue and said it was an issue with the variable valve pulley causing the timing chain to jump, and he suggested I take it to a Renault garage, as this is a known fault and they may offer to pay for some or all of the costs (which he also stated could build up to AT LEAST £750 since the engine is in the boot and would have to be completely removed to even look at). This mechanic used to work at a legit Renault garage and said he's seen them completely cover the costs for issues like this in the past, but with Clios.

Has anybody experienced a similar issue with any Renault car? Mine isn't even 5 years old yet and has about 30,000 miles on the clock, which is why the mechanic said Renault should really offer to pay for at least some of the costs as it shouldn't be having this issue since it's in a fairly decent state. It's heading into Renault tomorrow for a diagnosis from them, and I'd really appreciate hearing any similar experiences with people taking their car to a Renault garage with a similar issue and them covering some of the costs in case they turn around to me and say they're not covering a penny.

I like to do my research and it would be nice to know if they've covered the costs for something similar in the past so I have something to hit back with if they refuse to make any sort of payment towards it.

Kangoo ABS removal

Hi all
Back again.. I have removed the wheel arch trims to get at the ABS and it looks very tight access. I can't even see the pipe connections easily. I saw a short piece on a Ukranien site(!) that said it could be taken out that way. The car is a 2007 1.5dci. with aircon.
Is that correct? Or do I have to remove stuff from the engine side to get to it?
Any comments welcome.

Manual door key for Scenic III - not working

Hi

Please can anyone advise for my daughters car (I have tried searching here).

My daughter found that her 'manual' key didn't work when one of the 'key cards' recently failed.

The key turns, but doesn't open the door.

The strange thing is, everywhere on internet and the owners manual, states the manual key lock is on the passenger door - but it isn't !! (2010 Scenic 3). The lock is on drivers door only, and there isn't a lock on the passenger side and the suggested 'flap' to expose lock doesn't exist. I'm assuming this is an update ? Image for proof :smile2:

Any ideas on a fix please ?
