Air quality sensor bypass*

Hi,

I have Grand Scenic 2013, and AQS is slowly eating my wife's (and mine) nerves.

Is there any way to bypass it?

The main problem is that it's mostly on recycle mode, which in turn saturates inside with so much humidity that it's unbearable. Only solution is to turn AC on, but I do not want to be forced to use it all the time.

It would be ideal that button which forces inside circulation would in fact force outside air instead. I wouldn't even mind to completely turn it off and let it inhale outside air all the time (possibly to switch it inside with manual button)

Does anyone have a solution or WA for this?

hi I have 04 plate megane convertible now the n/s/r window wont work stopped in closed postion,today the o/s/r window went down wont come bk up how can I get window up just to make car safe until I can afford to get it in to a garage, car parked in my street

Hi,

I have a 2003 Laguna which up until yesterday was working fine, went to open up the car with the keycard but nothing. I have tried the spare keycard as well but again nothing. The alarm was going off yesterday but i thought the wife had switched it off so wondering if it's a dead battery ?

I opened the car with the emergency key & put the card in the ignition but it's all dead.

The only thing i got was when i opened the car the alarm went off once or twice but stopped within 30 seconds..

Any idea's please ?

Please Please Help!

I have a Renault Megane Oasis 1.4 16V 2005 plate. When I first start the vehicle up it runs fine and the revs are normal. After about 5 minutes and when pulling up at junctions or stopping at traffic lights the revs go from anywhere between 1900 - 2300. This does occasionally fluctuate and sometimes just stays at 2000. If I turn the car off and leave it for a few minutes the revs return to normal when in idle but after 5 minutes go high again.

It is showing no fault codes

I have disconnected the alternator when it is revving high but no change?

Apart from this the car is running fine. Can anyone please help

Megane 1.6v stalling engine at low revs

Hi,

I have a Renault Megane II 1.6 (2005) that I've bought 1 month ago.
This car has only one issue.. when I drive at very low speeds the engine tends to stall and the engine management light start flashing.
Sometimes I can save the engine from stalling by pressing on the petrol pedal (and then the flashing light stops).. and sometimes it's too late (as pressing petrol pedal doesn't make any difference) and I have to turn the engine off and start it again.. when it starts it starts flawlessly.
When this happens this car usually vibrates before I shut it down.
Before I bought this car I sent it for diagnosing and the only thing they found with the engine is "moderate pressure loss in the cylinders" but I was told that this is not a serious issue..
I searched a bit about this issue and some people suggested that this is because of a TDC/coils/head gasket failure.
I'd like to hear what do you think?

Scenic dymanique cuts out, ideas please!

Hi all,

I have seen and read MANY posts on this, but nothing definitive so will bother you again, sorry :)

We have a Renault scenic 1.6 dynamique, but it isnt being dynamic right now! it's possibly headed to the bin, so before we do that let me explain the situation.

Started cutting out as per other posts, still cutting out from warm or cold. Once it gets going, it's not bad but it does feel "underpowered" when driving/stopping at lights etc. Likes to cut out in reverse also, not sure if that's relevant.

What we have tried so far:

Garage cleaned throttle body
Cam shaft sensor changed
New battery (RAC told us it said replace)
New injector coils replaced yesterday by moi
TDC sensor to be fitted tomorrow by garage.

So looking for advice really, i really really hope the TDC sensor fixes it.....if not, what else can we do?

Can someone confirm the TDC is different to the cam shaft sensor?

Also now that we have fitted this "stuff" does it need to be programmed with the ECU etc? if so, how?

I have read posts about dephaser, possible electric faults, etc, lots of ideas.

We live in RG27 (fleet) so if there are any local people that can assist for little money! then thats also welcomed :) we are no good on cars.

2002 kangoo valve sequence

i am looking for the valve sequence for the kangoo i have. The computer is dead and i want to replace it with an after market computer. But i need to know what valves are opened for each gear. Eg (1st gear valve 1 open 2 closed 3 closed 4 open). If anyone can help i would be happy i also do not know what the model number of the automatic transmission. The car has a 1.4 engen

Still searching for a Zenith 32IF7 mixture screw, been reliably informed that this carb was fitted to the Renault 4L & 5TL GTL, T900, has any one got a spare, old carb or knowledge of a supplier or knows of another Zenith screw that does the job. Or if you are in Hampshire can i borrow one to get another made? May also have found an alternative the 32IF8 fitted to Renault 12, would this be a direct replacement and are the parts interchangeable ie float as this has one missing.

Idle Speeds on a Reanult Scenic - on startup, stop and power and what to check

Hi All,

I have just sorted out starting problems on a renault grand scenic.

Few questions - what is the correct idle speed of a scenic on start up?

What idle speed should there be when stopping? (The inital speed after taking foot of throttle)

What revs should the scenics power band be? (turbo)

Mine is 750rpm, 500 - 610rpm, 3800rpm.

these - bar the 750rpm idle from startup speed seem off so what components should i check to make sure the rpms are correct?

Stereo problem

Hi i recently bought a megane scenic 2001. The previous owner had an aftermarket stereo in but removed it and put the factory one back in. It's an old tape one and locked out. The car sales gave me a renault factory cd player which i found was locked out as well. I have the code and waited 90 minutes for the error message to go with no luck. I have now got an Alba cd player but it had no leads with it. I have toured various car shops today and none had the adaptor. One warned me not to mess with it though as Scenics are supposedly very temperamental. They said they'd only ever fit one stereo in a scenic and had endless problems with lights coming on the dash and something about pulses running the wiring. They said the 2001 model should be ok but better going to an auto electrician first. Is this true or am i safe buying another stereo with the leads this time and just connecting it up. Thanks for any advice anyone can offer. Got a long drive in a few weeks and would rather listen to music than the kids arguing

Hi all

Currently stuck on motorway...

1998 clio 1.4.

Running perfectly fine, sitting in traffic, all of a sudden idle goes real lumpy and stalls.

In neutral I can rev fine but it feels like it's idling on 3.

What little I have drove it onto the hard shoulder it feels seriously down on power.

This happened once before when a sensor came off in the engine bay, just checked and all looks ok.

Will mention these but possibly unrelated.

Hazard lights wouldn't come in at first without ignition on. Was sitting there with engine off and all of a sudden then came on, now staying on.

One of the times I started it up the Isle leveled out very briefly then back to rough.

Engine temp went up to 3rd big line, noticed fan still hadnt come on. When should it?

What else can I check? Iv checked

Water level fine
Battery contacts secure
Pushed down on HTC leads
Visual check of nothing having come loose like before

Clio 1.2 16v advice

Hi there I've got the head off a clio I have 1.2 16v 52 plate 130000 miles on the clock. Anyways the timing belt snapped and all the inlet valves have hit pistons so I'm going to get a second hand head etc.. The only issue I have is when I removed the head, cylinder 4 was full of oil, I filled all the cylinders with WD40 and cylinder 4 after checking 2 days later had sunk quite a bit more then the other 3 I don't know if I should just risk it and fit a head belt etc or not?

pipe dripping water under car.

Hi i have just bought a 2014 megane 1.5 dci. Its been fine but i have now noticed a small pool of water dripping from a pipe under car. The pipe seems to drip water for a while and then stops. Only noticed this in last 2 days. Is it anything to worry about or dangerous? Have been told it may be aircon condensation. Is this a normal function? I just want to know if i need to b concerned about it. Thanks

Engine cuts out when breaking at lights

I have a renault Megane 1.4 16v 2002 plate, currently at 104,000. I recently been experiencing my engine cutting out when I stop at lights, my revs drop down to 500rpm or lower and it some times pulls back up and its fine and other times it cuts out and all the dash lights come on.

I have changed the temperature sensor on the engine block, I changed the TDC crank shaft sensor, i have checked for air leaks and nothing.

Recently had a full service just before all these problems started. looking for some serious help.
used my mates hand held ECu reader and no faults showed up.

Hi, As a newby can anyone help. I have a Scenic II 2004 1.6 petrol with standard aircon, This does not work. Our fridge engineer at work has looked at it and says the system is empty. The question is he can only see 1 valve on the pipe at the top of the ebgine left of the filler cap. I believe he said it was high pressure but cannot find another valve (low) so it cannot be refilled. Any ideas guys. Please. Alan

Jimmy received a parrot for Christmas. The parrot was fully grown, with a
very bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.

Every other word was an expletive; those that weren't expletives were, to say the least, rude. Jimmy tried to change the bird's attitude by constantly saying polite words, playing soft music... anything he couldthink of. Nothing worked.

He yelled at the bird, and the bird got worse. He shook the bird and the bird got madder and more rude.

Finally, in a moment of desperation, Jimmy put the parrot in the freezer. For a few moments he heard the bird swearing, squawking, kicking and screaming and then, suddenly, there was absolute quiet.

Jimmy, frightened that he might have actually hurt the bird quickly opened the freezer door.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto Jimmy's extended arm and said, "I'm so sorry that I offended you with my language and my actions and I ask your forgiveness. I will endeavour to correct my behaviour".

Jimmy was astounded at the changes in the bird's attitude and was about to ask what had changed him, when the parrot continued, "May I ask what the Chicken did?"

Hi can any body please help, has the scenic 1.5dci got its own seperate fuel injector wiring loom or is it a all in one engine loom? thanks for all advice given.

central locking

But of help needed I only have one key central locking does not work from key... Opened up to find part broken inside.. I have found new key. Obviously they need programming. So the question is how much would this cost.. ?
I have also thought about after market kits that you can fit to existing locking system.. where would you find control unit for kangoo van please any help is grateful
