Air filter housing removal
Hi. Something is rattling around behind the air filter housing on my wife's 99 clio rxe 1.6. Driving everyone nuts.
I cant see what the problem is and I cant get the housing off the car to get access. Removed all the screws and bolts i can see. I've attached a couple of photos.
The housing is attached to the black column like object on the right hand side, and it just seems to be one tube (the housing) sliding into another tube coming off the column (what is that column?) , but they dont pull apart and i'm reluctant to apply full force for obvious reasons.
i'm clearly missing something obvious so any help would be much appreciated. Some photos attached.

Side impact sensors
I have an airbag warning light on my old 2001 Clio 1.5dci Dynamique. The error code from the costly diagnostician is DF033 - side collision sensors not programmed. So to avoid the stealers I was going to replace the sensors and hope that solves the problem. Now the tricky bit. I googled the part number on mine and it's for a 182, which made me think maybe these sensors were replaced by the old owner with the wrong ones as they same to be model/trim specific. Has anyone got a 1.5 dci Dynamique that could tell me what the part is supposed to be!

renault clio 2005 1.4 shuddering & emissions light
Hi all,
Whenever I start my little Clio, (2005 dynamique 1.4) she shudders like she is going to stall, very badly. The emissions warning light also comes on randomly Id say once every 2 days (I drive 2 hours a day).
I've googled this a fair bit and apparently its the ignition coils that is the most obvious cause. Great I thought, so i ordered a brand new pack of four ignition coils and popped them in. Only it hasn't made any difference.
Does anyone have any other avenues I could try?

04 laguna engjne swap
hi all,
just had the timing /cambelt snap on my laguna, (fanbelt broke a few days before and aparently one piece of the tattered belt managed to get into cam belt and break it...)
im not a trained mechanic but im handy enough with cars, but dont have much knoledge(or specalist tools)about repairing valves or head etc,
so im wondering would it be easier and cheaper to just swap the engjne out??
i have a engine hoist and i think an engine swap would be easier than head work etc, as if swaping with same size it should be easy no messing with adapting engine mounts etc..
What im not sure on is if i get a new engine will i need to do somthing with ecu or immobiliser or key system?
Or can i just switch lumps and reconnect all electics etc and the new one will just work?? or are the ecu and engine "matched" and need a reflash or somthing?!

Question about 4CV/Dauphine engine
I'm currently rebuilding an 845cc engine that was in a 1963 Renault Dauphine. Valves and valve seats need to be replaced and they're a bit hard to find. I have a valve set that would be fine if it were a Gordini. Mine is not a Gordini. My understanding is the engine in a 4CV and a Dauphine are only different in bore size. Is this correct? Ultimate question: Will the valves and/or valve seats in a 4CV head also work with the head on an 845cc in a Dauphine?

K4m engine / cambelt fitting
Can anybody throw some light on the reason a new cambelt would be so difficult to fit? I have all the setting tools and have used them on a K4m engine before but this one has me baffled. Tensioner ok ,idle pulley ok , all cleaned and rebuilt properly . When I try to fit belt onto tensioner it is very tight. Yes I have set the tdc pin R/H cam tool fitted , cam sprocket tool fitted, cam nuts loose .
Got me stumped any ideas?

scenic 2.2 fault DF074
Has anyone resolved this problem?
I have this fault "DF074 Boost pressure sensor, Coherence between the boost pressure and atmospheric pressure".
this fault comes on and car goes into limp mode only when the car idles, and as soon as it starts but only at tick over.

Autobox compatability
Hi all,
I have (what I assume is) a part number of 8200388222 for the auto box that I have just removed from my dead Espace 2.2 dci.
Are all the Mk4 Espace 2.2 dci auto boxes the same?
If not, what should I be looking for?
I have found another box on ebay with the same part number complete with torque converter, just don't want to splash out £275 if there is a chance that it will be different.

2006 scenic 1.5 DCI long cranking before starting
Hi all been a long time since I've been on here but I now have another Renault and yes it has a fault
OK here we go its a 2006 06 scenic 1.5 DCI 6 speed manual with 131k on the clock it has good service history Now the problem I have is no matter if the car is cold warm or hot it will crank for 5 poss 6 seconds before it will fire it will do this every time the car is started even if you switch it off and restart instantly there is no messages nor warning lights on the dash and AUTO COM CDP reports no stored codes this is baffling me I bought it from an old guy (77) who owned the car for 3 years & he said its always done it since the day he bought it
I must point out the car will always start no smoke nor funny noises nothing it runs like a dream I just don't understand what could be causing such a strange error please help this is doing my nut :confused:

Difficulty finding front wiper motor for 02 reg MK1 Renault Megane Coupe....help
as per title really.
Its a 02 reg MK1 megane coupe.
Somehow the mechanism has sheered off the motor, rendering both the motor and the mechanism scrap as its broken off the mounting points where everything attaches to and the wipers packed up and the motor and mechanism was just dangling by the electrical wiring.
The motor that came off it has a black 4 pin connector plug on it, 2 pins together then a space then 2 more pins. part number 535 63 002 made by Valeo?
The plug on the car has 4 wires going to it, black, green, white and purple and purple
We bought one off ebay that was promised to fit but it has a grey plug on it, cant keep spending £15 - £20 a time taking a gamble on eBay, nobody nearby has one.
Ive heard the black plug motor is rare as hens teeth and costs a tidy amount if you manage to find one?
Is there anyway i can re wire it or wire it to the grey motor? or anything else i can do that means i dont have to pay £200 odd for a new black plug motor?

Hello, i need help please, this is driving me crazy. Isto have a sat nav carminat and when i power on my car everything is fine with radio/GPS screen but after some time, the display fails, wont respond or freezes, dont respond to my intentions on radio or sometimes the screen turn off and the radio stops. gps fail in laguna 2 07 facelift initiale
having read various posts re this i am confused. having checked fuses etc all ok. i took out the glove box and all i have is the carminat tuner, small flat box. if i was to get a new gps aerial where does it fit and how do i get to it. any help greatfully received

Renault Master 2.5dci 2005 starting problem
Hi i have a master 2.5dci 55plate. I seem to lost my other post on here so i am putting this on for help/advice please. The van used to start up fine and run perfectly after a few turns it fire up. Over time it got worst to start and now not starting off the key. I do now and again after trying to start it it will fire up and drive and run fine. but no matter how long you run engine for has soon has you turn it off it wont start again. It will start up if you give it a bump start.
Changed fuel filter has someone said do that first and rebleed the system. so just stuck on what to try next...

Espace 2.2 dci noisy chugging engine
Hi there, recently changed the cam belt and tensioner, car starts fine and idles fine, but the engine is noisy, making a puffing sound and feels like air is blowing back through the air box also engine has no power, timing is spot on as far as I can tell, followed instructions to the letter using specified locking tools, I could really use some help as I don't know what the problem could be, many thanks, Neil
